One of the main lessons I’ve learnt as a professional is this: you do shitty things for as long as you do shitty things. Then, one day you say no and you do one less shitty thing. No one – management, agency, record company, road managers, tour managers – will change the way the industry works for you. However much any of these people aim to protect your interests, for as long as you do shitty things, you will continue to do shitty things. So, when one day you’re offered something which is not right, you say no. That’s when it changes, and not before.
[Excerpt from RF’s Guitar Craft Journals – March 29th. 2000]

"To create new values- that, even the lion cannot yet accomplish: but to create itself freedom for new creating- that can the might of the lion do.
To create itself freedom, and give a holy Nay even unto duty: for that, my brethren, there is need of the lion."
- Friedrich Nietzsche
I sure wish I knew your definition of shitty things! Can you explain with music examples so I know what you mean? Regards, s
