Midnight Blue
RF@80 Vol. 7
Midnight Blue is the third piece from Show 2 at The House of Blues, Los Angeles, January 26th. 1995. Released on A Blessing of Tears, 1995 Soundscapes Live in California.
In this week’s commentary, Robert reflects on the loss of his parents, Arthur Fripp in 1985, and his Mother, Edie, who flew away on July 22, 1993.
Spending time with his Mother during her last weeks, at a time when his life was overwhelmed by the legal battle with former managers at EG, was a blessing that allowed the ongoing dispute to be held at bay.
Part of the processing of the loss came through the music heard on these recordings. “When life is hard, music is always a friend.”
n Saturday June 28th, 2003 at the Paradiso, Amsterdam, the Metropole Orkest, conducted by Jan Stulen, performed a concert of orchestral arrangements of Soundscapes by Andrew Keeling from transcriptions by Bert Lams.
Here for the first time is a new mix of the original soundscape with the addition of the Metropole Orkest.
